Prologue
The Galactic Amalgam, a coalition of dozens of worlds, has been in existence for three thousand years. Before this alliance came to be, the last Great War brought much destruction. Worlds were destroyed, star streams were lost and many civilizations were wiped out. After the war, there was much to rebuild. Wanting to avoid the same fate, the remaining civilizations chose to create an alliance that would keep peace. In the universe there is light and there is darkness. It can’t be denied that there has been conflict but never has it threatened the worlds in the Star Stream Network the way it did in the past.
Although many advanced civilizations exist, none has been able to surpass the limits of traveling at light speed. However, at the very edge of every solar system exists a star stream, a doorway that brings the worlds together. It is believed that not every solar system in the galaxy contains a star stream but they do not know what makes theirs special; perhaps it is a design or perhaps it happened by chance.
The magoni have been part of the Galactic Amalgam since its creation. Until recently that is. After a ship transporting diplomats from two races was destroyed, it was discovered that the attacking ship was of magoni origin. The Galactic Amalgam had no choice but to remove them from the alliance. The zereque and the akinox, the victims of the tragedy, wanted justice and they believed it had not been delivered. With pressure coming from many worlds, the alliance decided they would not punish the magoni in any hostile way. However, they would not intervene with the affairs between the magoni and the rest of the worlds. Thus, the zereque and the akinox declared war on the magoni.
Humans lived in earth, wondering if there was other life in the universe. Little did they know that first contact with alien life had already happened. As humans went on living everyday fighting each other, hunger, and disease, they did not realize that there were those that had been recruited by the magoni to fight a war far greater than any seen on earth. The magoni set up a base on earth, on the Antarctica continent. To set themselves apart from their home world so that it would not appear involved in their illegal contact with humans, they created an organization from where they would lead the humans into battle. The organization’s name: Galactic Knights.
